Former College Dean Ed Loomis deceased

Just as the 1940s Reunion was coming together, we learned that Ed Loomis DS'42 passed away on May 13th, 2010 in Santa Barbara. Ed spent a lengthy career as an author and professor of English. While he taught primarily at the University of California, Santa Barbara - where he also chaired the English Department - Ed is also remembered fondly by students he taught in several stints at Deep Springs. From 1962-64 he served as Academic Dean at Deep Springs College. You can read an extensive obituary here. In addition to his wife Mary, Ed is survived by his brother Richard Loomis DS'43, daughters Jessica, Andrea & Abby, and several grandchildren.

Alumni Directory

Deep Springs will distribute a comprehensive Directory of Alumni to all living alumni in the month of June. The printed version is a first edition and will arrive by regular mail. Revisions and corrections are invited from the alumni community in anticipation of a complete edition next year.
